Your Homebuying Could Use A Jump Start

First-time homebuyers—or those who haven’t owned a home in years—face unique challenges in the home loan process. One of these challenges is the down payment. For those homebuyers, there is Jump Start!

The Jump Start Assistance Program

The Jump Start down payment assistance program provides up to 3% of the purchase price (or maximum $6,000) for qualified homebuyers to use toward a down payment on a new home.

  • Jump Start is not a loan, but it may affect your mortgage interest rate. Ask your home loan expert for details.
  • Jump Start won’t cover your whole down payment. The minimum buyer contribution to the down payment is $500.
  • Jump Start assistance is only available on a 30-year fixed mortgage.
  • You must remain in the mortgage for at least four (4) years. If you sell or refinance before then, you will be responsible for repaying the full amount of the assistance.

Who Qualifies?

You may qualify for Jump Start assistance if you meet the following criteria.

Are a first-time homebuyer OR

Haven’t owned a home in the last three (3) years AND

Make no more than $65,500 (for a 1–2-person household) or $74,750 (for a 3+ person household) at the time of purchase
