The Kirtland Federal Credit Union elves are busy this December! Kirtland Federal Credit Union (KFCU) surprised local organization Honor Flight of Northern New Mexico with a $1,000 donation to help continue their mission in 2022. Honor Flight representative Adeline Herrera said the donation will cover one guardian fee for a veteran traveling on an Honor Flight to visit Washington D.C.

“A lot of the time, our veteran family members cannot afford the $1,000 fee for the trip,” Herrera said. “We can keep this donation in our pocket for our next flight to assist a veteran in need.”

Kirtland FCU President and CEO, Matt Rarden, joined in the surprise presentation along with Rick Crocker, Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Sharlene East, Executive Vice-President and COO.

“This is just a small way we can say happy holidays to important organizations like Folds of Honor,” said Crocker. “Hopefully, gifts like these add up to make a big impact with our veterans and their families.”

Kirtland FCU plans to make more surprise donations this December to partner charities and organizations.
