The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) recently announced its winners for the national awards competition, naming Kirtland Federal Credit Union (KFCU) as a first place winner of the Louise Herring Award in the $1 billion and under category. In addition to the New Mexico state-level award, KFCU earned acclaim among credit unions nationwide, placing as a national winner for the award. According to CUNA, “the award is given to a credit union for its practical application of credit union philosophy within the actual operation of the credit union. It is awarded for internal programs and services that benefit membership.” Additionally, the award is chosen, based on policies that support and demonstrate “People Helping People.”
